TheDepartment of Comparative Literature and Intercultural Studies (CLIS) and theAfrican Studies Institute (ASI) at University of Georgia invite applicationsfor a tenure-track Assistant Professor in African Literatures and InterculturalStudies, with primary specialization in Anglophone Sub-Saharan African Literature.
Successfulcandidate will have demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and researchand be able to teach introductory courses in African Literature and AfricanStudies, as well as courses in African Oral Traditions and/or InterculturalStudies at all levels.
We are interestedin candidates with secondary specialization in African cinema, African Diasporaliterature and/or African language pedagogy.
Appointmentwill begin on August 1, 2020. Applicants must have Ph.D. in Comparative Literature, African Studies or related field by appointmenttime and demonstrate evidence of teaching effectiveness and potential forscholarly publication and service.
