Anglia Ruskin University, London (ARUL) is an ambitious, teaching focussed provider of undergraduate and postgraduate education, primarily aimed at a widening participation audience. Based in the heart of London, just a stone’s throw from Farringdon Station, ARUL is a multi-building campus hosting over 7,000 students studying subjects related to Business, Hospitality, Health and Social Care, Project Management, Law and Finance.
Continued growth in demand for our student-centred courses has led to the opportunity to expand our management team with the appointment of a Deputy Head of Department for our Accounting, Law, Hospitality, Events and Tourism Department who will provide academic leadership, whilst supporting the Head of Department and colleagues.
As a Deputy Head of Department, you will join an ambitious and dynamic team, committed to delivering life-changing education of the highest standard to a diverse student group. You will be required to collaboratively work with the Head of Department to lead, manage and develop the department to ensure it achieves the highest possible standards of excellence in all its activities.
Working within the department and across the organisation, you will demonstrate vision, and empower others to deliver the agreed departmental strategy within the Faculty. You will be ambitious for students and comfortable working in an organic, fast-paced working environment.
If you share our belief in the transformational nature of education, are passionate about ensuring excellence in academic delivery and development, and wish to be part of an exciting and expanding organisation, then we would like to talk to you about this opportunity at ARUL.
Applications are welcomed from experienced academics with a background in delivering education, or staff development within an accounting, law, hospitality, events or tourism Department/School.
Ideally, you will have experience of academic management, have excellent written and oral communication skills and have the ability to initiate innovative and engaging teaching and learning activities.
